Abstract

Odontomas, together with amelo- blastomas, are the most common odontogenic tumors. They arise during embryonic tooth germ development due to incorrectly differentiated germ tissue and are therefore also referred to as hamartomas. Strictly speaking, they are therefore not classic neoplasms.
